The Artist In Gold

Last time I went to Thailand, I mailed myself home a large box of Thai costume jewelry, used in traditional dances. I used them to make this golden costume, meant to be worn at Burning Man, in the procession of Golden  Boys. Here I am modeling my costume in the studio, shortly before Burning Man, about three years ago!

Oh Boys!

I took these photos about three years ago, of my friends who organized the Oh! parties I used to design the fliers for.  They were happy to pose for me, and I had a lovely time photographing them in my old San Francisco studio that day. Here are some of the photos where they look their loveliest, which I'll be publishing over the next few days. I've used these photos as stock in dozens of paintings!

Satyricon

I threw a Satyricon themed party at my house in San Francisco a few years ago; I didn't take any photos, as it was a scandalous party and so many of my guests were professionals that they didn't want any evidence. It was lovely, and a great success; I need to repeat it here in Mexico. Here are some photos of the costume I made for myself!
