Dante and Víctor at play

I had my friends Dante and Víctor come by the studio the other day to model for a comission; a sweet collector had asked me to paint him and his boyfriend as two men hiking in the woods. As the collector in question is a burly fellow with a beard, Víctor and Dante seemed like the perfect stand-ins. While the commission in question was sweet and innocent and the men to be painted totally clothed, I was naturally not going to waist the opportunity with these two handsome men, so the photo shoot was nude. And, well, one thing led to another, and it became a lovely and intimate experience for all three of us; the two models and the lucky photographer. Wine With The Rafaels

One of the Rafaels is staying with me for a couple of weeks while he looks for a place to stay; as a result, is friend and ex-boyfriend the other Rafael has been coming over to my house quite a bit lately, to hang out. Here they are drinking wine in the afternoon, and playing around just the tiniest bit, (licking spilled wine off a house-guests chest, for example) as we enjoy one another's company.

Back Again!!!

So when I moved to Mexico almost a year ago, Blogspot decided that I was not myself and kicked me off my blog! I tried everything I could to try and post again, but nothing worked, as I was posting from a different country and it asked for all kinds of information I didn't have access too. I gave up the situation as hopeless, sad because I had so many followers, and decided to make a new blog and just start over. But happily, a friend of mine figured the situation out, and I can access my blog again! So we will be posting daily from here on out, with the first of our new posts below! Check back tomorrow and often as we update the blog!

I met Rafael (the black-haired boy in the photos) at a costume party at my house a month ago or so, he was a guest of Elias whom he had met at University. He showed up and was naked almost before I learned his name, dressed in nothing but gold and pearls! He was a lovely guest, and wound up spending the night with Elias and I, and I have had several photo shoots of him since, which photos I have yet to post (but which will be coming soon)! Last week he came by with his ex boyfriend, also named Rafael, and I took photos of the two posing in the guest room; these simple ones here, and later, crowned with blossoms and making love in a bed of flowers. I'll post those photos as well, soon. I think they are both so charming and sweet, and very smart, prone to carrying about volumes of Proust and Plato wherever they go, and I am so happy to have gotten to know them. Rafael One (the darker boy) is actually staying with me for a few weeks, so lots and lots of photos of him will be coming soon! 

Also, I have been posting photos taken years ago at the back end of my blog, so it is in fact growing from both ends; don't forget to check out the last pages for photos, many previously unpublished, from years back!

Pillow Poem 21

I recently finished "Pillow Poem 21," a japanese Shunga painting of two boys making love while riding horseback through the waves of a turbulent sea.

I had a photo shoot with Danimal a couple of months back for my painting "Hood Ornaments." At the same time, I took photos for a bunch of other projects as well; I knew I wanted to make this painting, so I had taken photos then as well. First, I had already downloaded photos of horses in the poses I wanted; I photographed us making love in the proper poses to be able to photoshop us onto the back of a horse later; below is the finished stock photo of us on the back of the horse.

Than I drew us on handmade bamboo paper from China using vegetable ink and a fine brush. Below is a photo of the painting in progress. Finally, when the ink drawing was complete, I painted it with watercolors.
