Gal and World War II

I just came across a new artist on Deviant Art, whom I totally love. She used some of my stock photographs to make art of her own, and sent me a link. She's 20, from Israel, and so talented. These are from a series based on World War II. There is a great song by the Decemberists about gay soldiers that she used as a starting point - I've been thinking about doing the same thing, but setting mine in World War I. Anyway, here are some of her paintings - I hope you like them as much as I do!

Gregoire and the Faun

These are some photos I took several years ago of Gregoire, a charming young man I met in Paris who came out to visit me. I drew him from life as a faun; these photos were taken that day.

Wrestling Bout

These are some photos from a few years ago of myself wrestling with a lovely ex boyfriend. I don't think I've ever posted any of these - I have so many photos that I am sure I have only posted the tiniest percentage of what is available! This wrestling match was so fun; it was the first time he had ever modeled for me (we weren't dating yet - although were were by the end of the photo shoot!), so I had him wrestle with me as a way to loosen him up and get him to feeling comfortable. Here are some photos from it!

At the All Worlds Resort in Palm Springs

A fan sent me a photo he took of me at my booth at the All Worlds Resort in Palm Springs, where I spent this past weekend. I'm not sure its the most flattering photo I've ever seen of myself; anyway, it was a fun day, spent hanging out with my work and customers who came out from LA to see me, and new ones I met that day! Here's the photo!

Paintings of Me and Fyrefly

Here are some of the paintings I made using the stock I took of Fyrefly and I in the studio. We had such a wonderful time; he is so sexy, and it was such a surprise to get roped into the photo shoot like that. And so useful! That wonderful memory of sex and pleasure, immortalized in photos taken by my friend Bruno, and then used from then on out to make artwork is a lovely thing. Every time I see one of these paintings I think of that afternoon of pleasure.

More Sweet Love with Fyrefly

Here are some more photos from that infamous photo shoot. It was really taken as stock photography, to be used in my paintings and drawings, and I have used it a good many times. In my next post I'll put up some examples of pieces I did using these photos. In the meantime, enjoy!
