Danimal and Oscar at Cazadero

I thought I would highlight some older photos I took about two years ago at Cazadero, a lovely spot remote in the California desert, where I spent a lovely time with my friends Danimal and Oscar, who were a couple at the time. It was a weekend spent playing in the water with my boyfriend and the two of them, lazing in the sun, and making love in the open. I took a great many photos of my two good friends, and they looked so beautiful, glistening from their recent dips, in love and happy. Here are some of the photos along with a painting I made inspired by that trip.

Country Affection

Some Studio Excitement

These photos were taken a while ago, but I never posted them on the blog to share with you all! I took over a thousand photos during this session. These are my friends Oscar and Danimal, who were boyfriends at the time; I had been to numerous parties where I had seen them making love before, so it was nothing startling to ask them to perform for me in the studio! They came by, got naked, and with complete comfort settled into lovemaking, in a beautiful space of sweetness and sex. I felt so lucky that they would share their intimacy with me, and I have been making beautiful art with it ever since! Below is one of the paintings I made using these photos

The Source

I made this painting a few years ago, but I don't think I ever shared the photos I took to make it with. Its one of my favorite and most ambitious paintings; about 4 feet wide, in acrylic on panel. Its called "The Source." I ended up changing my mind about how I wanted the figures to be posed, so I never used any of the photos I took initially. This was also the first time I ever used photos to make a painting, so these are the first stock photos I ever took! Anyway, here they are,

The Oh! Boys 2

Here are some more photos of my friends, the boys who throw the Oh! parties that I make the fliers for. These were taken one day a couple of months ago when the boys dropped by to say hello; they had been planning a day at Dolores Park (I was supposed to come along as well - a day of sun and grass and cute sunbathing boys), but it got all windy and foggy (as usual), and so I suggested that we all head to my house and get naked there instead! A lot of frolicking ensued, and picture-taking, which I have been using to make my paintings. Here are the last of the photos I took that day!
