Lion Loving

I made one of my favorite Oh! fliers to date recently, and I thought I would post a little bit about the process. I made it on an African explorer theme; naturally, my explorer is making sweet sweet love with a lion.

Step number one was an internet search to find some pictures of lion loving. The photo above was one of my favorites; I then took some photos of my brother Marcelito posing as though he was in the place of  the lucky lioness.

The photo above was the one I chose - the finished painting combining boy and lion follows below!

I mostly kept the lion the same, but I wrapped one pay around his cheek and shoulder to make it look a little more tender. To purchase the original of this piece for 240 dollars, or if it has sold, a print for 17, click below!

Below are some more poses of my brother as though he is getting it on with different tigers and lions. I had the original photos on the computer by his side:

And below is a composite image showing Marcelito with a mountain lion for a future drawing

Finally, just for the hell of it, I took some photos of him in beautiful poses, just to share the photos with you!

And a final mountain lion loving piece

I'll probably make some paintings based on these photo composites soon. Check back to see them when they are done!
